The First Chronicles of Kohaku Hagami! ~Relaxing~ {Open} ((No killing bishes!))

In Konoha the weather was rarely any different from sunny and warm, with today being no exception. It was past lunch time, around 2 pm (this much Kohaku couldn't be certain in because her sundial readings were rather shaky), and the park was packed with people. Families with picnic blankets, kids playing tag, boys kicking a football around, chattering gossips and the solitary elderly couple taking a stroll through the park grounds. Away from all the masses of Konoha citizens, Kohaku was sat in a small clearing close by; her back leant on a huge oak tree, facing a breath-taking view across the North of Konoha. The clearing dipped away further on, thus leaving the area with a stunning vantage point over the village. Kohaku was here with her trusted sketch pad and an array of pencils that she used to sketch everything accurately. Her attention to detail was touching on OCD standards now that she had all the right materials since living with her adoptive father Shin Hagami. Every piece of artwork she made was a labour of love, and it sometimes took her days to finalise and finish. Luckily for her, she could go away from the place she was sketching and continue the same drawing with no problems. After spending a day soaking up the beauty of the surroundings she chose to capture, she could work from memory.

All was rather peaceful here, apart from the occasional raised voice against the constant backdrop of murmuring voices that seemed thousands of miles away. Especially since Kohaku was so focused now that next to no noise could rouse her from her sketching. Her dark brown hair had been tied up using the orange ribbon she usually used as a headband and tied in a neat bow at the back. A few loose strands framed her face and her full fringe ruffled whenever she blew upwards out of habit. She was wearing an overly large orange shirt that looked rather suitably like an artist's smock, and a pair of short denim blue shorts. On her feet were a pair of worn yet comfortable lime green sneakers, and sat at her side was a red backpack full of all her sketching utensils, past drawings and numerous precious gemstones that she felt helped her to concentrate.

Even though it was rather obvious that Kohaku was too lost in her artwork to fight, she had her ninja tools in the same backpack also just incase she was ambushed by some odd change of events. Konoha was a safe haven to her, and she thought that it could never come to ruin. Though insanely naive, it was a rather admirable thought that she trusted her village so much. Kohaku paused to wipe her forehead with the back of her right hand, still clutching her current pencil. Smudges of pencil were on her cheeks and end of her nose, but she was still beaming brightly as she admired her work. Just a few more finishing touches...

Toshi was walking in the park when he saw a girl drawing, in a place pretty much in the exact same spot that he usually relaxes in. He began walking over to her and would stand over her to watch what she was drawing. Not in a creepy way, no, no, no, just in a curious way that would indeed show such curiosity with how he was constantly tilting his head to get a good view of what she was drawing. He said nothing for a while, before he couldn't figure out what it was she was drawing, and finally asked the question he wanted to ask since he first saw her sitting there. "What are you drawing?" he asks in a neutral tone.

Kohaku had been too immersed in finsihing her drawing that she did not hear footsteps around her or notice the presence of another close by her. Instead, she continued working; smudging some pencil lines here and there and darkening some shading to make the trees ahead of her seem a lot more real. She did not jump or act startled when a voice addressed her, asking her what she was drawing, and instead waited until she had finished what she was drawing at that moment in time before replying. "I'm drawing the view from where I'm sat looking out." She said happily back, turning her head in the direction of where the voice came from. She was met by a face of somebody she hadn't seen before, and a slight flicker of confusion and interest crossed her face while she tilted her head a bit. She moved her rucksack out of the way and patted the spot beside her to indicate that the boy should sit beside her.

"My name is Kohaku Hagami.~" She introduced herself cheerily, beaming in the direction of the boy. "And what's your name?" After finishing what she had been saying, she returned her attention to her drawing; determined to finish it. There was only a few more shadings in places to do, and then she could call her artwork a masterpiece. She wiped the back of her right wrist across her forehead upon finishing, and gathered together all her materials, placing them all carefully in her backpack apart from her sketchpad. She kept that sat on her knee so she could look at her drawing a bit longer.

Toshi was surprised that this girl didn't run or appear frightened. After all, he was used to those kinds of things regularly when he tried to talk to people, but it didn't seem to be the case with her. Shocked and nervous that he might actually be able to make a friend here, he started to stutter as he spoke. "M-my name is T-Toshi. Toshi Sat-Satomi...." he was embarrassed as he said this, but he didn't know why. Perhaps because he wasn't used to talking to people that much.

Kohaku smiled at the guy who had introduced himself to be Toshi. "Well it's great to meet ya, Toshi-kun!" She said brightly, finally deciding that her drawing was up to parr with the others she had done. "But come on, take a seat. I don't bite! At least, I don't bite hard." She joked good-naturedly, grinning at him in a cheeky manner. She neatly slotted her drawing into the sketchpad better and put it back into her backpack, zipping it around the top. She could tell that Toshi was nervous with talking to her, but she was always patient with the shy people she talked to. Eventually they would break out of their shell and reveal their true colours when they became more comfortable, so she was always let them take their time. She kept her warm, inviting and pretty smile plastered on her face; her amber eyes shining with delight just as they always did. She loved to meet new people and loved the prospect of making new friends, and thus she was always readily happy around new people that she met. "So what brings you to the park today?" She asked him casually to strike up an easy conversation.

"A-alright..." Toshi said quietly as he sat down next to her. When he heard her ask him what he was doing at the park, he had to think for a moment. What WAS he doing at the park? He didn't even know, he just liked strolling through, enjoying the scenery and such. And so he decided that was what he would go with. "I... guess I just like walking through, enjoying the scenery and everything. It's such a nice day out today, I figured I would just take my time..." he said in a low tone, still nervous.

Kohaku watched Toshi carefully with her amber eyes, making sure not to be wildly staring at him and therefore freaking out, but also not making her gaze seem lazy at all. She looked at him with interest instead. She could still tell he was nervous, his stuttering hadn't subsided yet. She beamed happily when he next spoke in relation to her question, however, because he barely stuttered at all. She nodded in understanding at what he said. Sometimes she too would just stroll somewhere to absorb the scenery, but not as often as she went somewhere to capture the beautiful surroundings. "I don't blame you; the weather really is nice today." She commented, averting her gazer out across the scene that she had just sketched. "Obviously I was here to sketch. In lovely weather such as this that we're having, it seems like a crime not to be out in it." She laughed, reaching up behind her head and untying the ribbon in her hair to let it fall down around her shoulders. She loosely tied the ribbon around her wrist as she had no mirror to place it in her hair again. She was rather fussy when it came to how she used it.

A small smile formed on Toshi's face. He didn't often open up to people all that much, but it was usually the cheerful people like the girl before him that made him open up, if even a little bit. "It really is nice out today..." he muttered lowly, just barely so that she could hear. "So peaceful, and so tranquil... sometimes I wish it would just stay like this all the time, rather than the constant fighting." he continued, this time at a normal tone rather than the nervous stuttering he always did.
